Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) NRA, has confirmed in his latest statement that the exam is expected to be conducted from Sept 2021. More than 2.5 Cr aspirants across India would benefit from the exam which will be organised by National Recruitment Agent for different governmental non-gazetted posts.
The Union Cabinet has also approved to set up the National Recruitment Agency in India in a bid to organise the hiring process by conducting CET exams twice a year. It will act as the nodal agency for organising CET exams in India. The advents of CET exams have successfully replaced the prelims level test that was conducted by different agencies for hiring non-gazetted posts.
What is NRA or National Recruitment Agency?
National Recruitment Agency is the proposed government agency set up after the approval from central government. In a bid to make single computer based preliminary exam for all non-gazetted government posts, the agency is setup. The role of the agency is to monitor and evaluate all the activities of CET.
Candidates applying for non-gazetted posts in India need to undergo challenging examinations and rounds for selection. It is both lengthy process and time consuming. So, to simplify the process, government has decided to set up NRA which will conduct one single exam for all Group B and Group C posts in different government agencies. It will minimise the time and candidates can prepare for one exam instead of multiple exams.
- Exams to be subsumed – All the prelims exam for non-gazetted posts will be subsumed into one single exam, CET. It is to replace the prelims exams for Group B and Group C that are conducted by different government agencies, including SSC, IBPS and RRB.
- Test Centres – There will be more than one centre in a district based on the candidates appearing for CET. So, candidates from remote location don’t have to travel too far for appearing in the exam. It will reduce the travel expenses for the poor aspirants.
Who Uses The CET Scores?
The marks scored by the spirants would hold significant value when attempting to get job in government, PSU jobs and private jobs. The scores of CET exam will be used both by the central and state government and PSU agencies. The primary aim of the exam is to save cost, and times and accelerate the hiring process. NRA CET Exam 2020-21 Eligibility:
The eligibility to appear for the CET 2021 will be same like the prelims exams. The aspirants need to be a graduate, 12th Passed or a 10th STD student. The CET will have different levels of exam, namely, 10th Level, 12th Level and Undergraduate level. CET 2021 has no changes in the eligibility criteria. So, aspirants attempting to appear for the CET 2021 don’t have to fret because it is a single prelims exam and rest of the things are same like the prelims exams conducted last year.
NRA CET Exam 2020-21 Age Limit:
Age limit for appearing the CET 2021 exam varies depending on the examination aspirants are taking under the CET. So, it depends on the type of exam you are appearing for. The age limit will be the same as prelims exam and it is not changed for CET 2021. Plus, the age relaxation for different categories would also be the same like the prelims exam. Aspirants don’t have to fret as the only change that is made is that instead of multiple prelims exams, it has been converted into one single exam with no changes in eligibility and age limit.
